Campus Plans Celebration for Campaign
There is a new reason for faculty and staff to contribute to UALR’s 2008 Campus Campaign.
If the campus reaches its goal of 50 percent participation, tickets for the Trojan’s Jan. 17 basketball game against Middle Tennessee will be half-off for University employees and their guests.
“This will be a wonderful way to celebrate reaching our goal,” said Campus Campaign Chair Cindy Milazzo. “Thanks to Athletics and Chris Peterson, we’ll have a Campus Campaign Night at Jack Stephens Center for the double header games (women’s and men’s basketball) against Middle Tennessee.”
Already, contributions to this year’s campaign have reached the 47.1 percent mark. Reaching the 50 percent mark is within grasp.
“The rate of participation of our faculty and staff in the Campus Campaign really does make a difference when external major donors and potential donors are asked to make a financial commitment to UALR,” said Bob Denman, UALR’s executive director of development. “Donors and potential donors to our comprehensive campaign – It’s Time for UALR – are impressed by how many of our faculty and staff believe in UALR’s mission enough to make a charitable contribution toward the mission. There are many worthy organizations asking for money; we are only one. Our faculty and staff participation in campus giving helps us stand out from the crowd.”
