Scientists Participate in Legislative Science Briefing
Dr. Jeff Gaffney, chair of the UALR Department of Chemistry and lead scientist in national scientific project natural radioactivity in airborne particulates in the atmosphere, and Dr. Alex Biris, lead scientist at UALR’s Arkansas Nanotechnology Center, will be among the participants at a Feb. 12 briefing on “The Future of Energy in Arkansas” sponsored by the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority and Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Energy Office.
The 1 to 3 p.m. briefing at the state Capitol will provide lawmakers and others high-level, but not-overly-scientific presentations on topics related to the future of energy in Arkansas. The topics include nanotechnology as it relates to energy, bio-production and bio-sustainability, the smart grid, and climate change.
