UALR and the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre present Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night
UALR and the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is presenting Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, or What You Will through Oct. 25 in the University Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Twelfth Night is considered to be one of Shakespeare’s most popular and humorous plays. Performances are Oct. 15-18 and 22-25. Sunday performances begin at 2:30 p.m., and all other shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for the general public.
This production is being offered in a partnership between UALR and the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre. The show includes a cast and creative staff of almost 40 collaborators and features Central Arkansas professional actors, UALR students and performance faculty, and guest artists in dance, musical composition, and fight choreography.
Jay Raphael, Chair of UALR’s Theatre Arts and Dance Department and director of the production, said, “The designs for Twelfth Night will include a magical set, scores of beautiful costumes, and dazzling lighting effects. You won’t want to miss it!”
Robert Boury, professor of music, has written an original score for the performance.
UALR student cast members include Caleb Colt Carter of Harrison, Zain Chauhan of Newport, Erin Anson of Little Rock, Jeff Wright of Little Rock, Ross Penn Jackson of New Orleans, Lise Strigel of Little Rock, Crystal Mercer of Little Rock, and Amelia Alter of Hot Springs.
