Retired Engineering Professor Jim Weyres Succumbs

James B. “Jim” Weyres, retired associate professor of engineering technology at UALR, died Friday, Feb. 25, in Dallas following a sudden illness. He was 77.

Weyres worked as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry in Texas, California, Illinois, and Oklahoma prior to joining UALR’s faculty. He retired in 1995 following a 26-year tenure at UALR.

He was active in various engineering societies and alumni organizations and was a licensed pilot.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4804 Seventh Ave., Kenosha, Wis., with burial at St. George Cemetery.

Survivors include his sister, Beverley Reidenbach; 10 nieces and nephews; and many other friends and relatives.
