UALR Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Honors
UALR’s women’s tennis team has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors for the 2008-09 season. The Trojans have received this honor every year since 2003. Seven student-athletes from the team earned ITA Scholar-Athletes honors.
The Trojans boasted a 3.81 grade point average for the season improving on a 3.71 grade point average the previous season.
Laetitia Bourgeon, Chantel Coolen, Nathalia Garay, Marta Gomez-Jordana, Fanny Lopez, Rebecca Van Den Houte, and Anne Weijenborg received scholar- athlete recognition.
The ITA All-Academic Team honor is awarded to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. To be named ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must earn a varsity letter, have a grade point average of at least a 3.50, and have completed at least two semesters at the institution.
