UALR to host Rent-A-Puppy Oct. 28

A UA Little Rock student plays with a puppy during the Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter Rent-A-Puppy event on Oct. 29, 2015.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock community will have the opportunity to play and socialize with rescue and shelter dogs of all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 next to Ottenheimer Library.

The third annual Rent-A-Puppy event offers dog rescue and shelter organizations in central Arkansas some public exposure and gives their adoptable dogs an opportunity to receive affection and, potentially, new homes.

Attendees may rent a dog for $5 for 15 minutes. Toys will be provided, and dogs will be on leashes for people to handle.

UALR’s Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter organizes the event, which raises funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation, one of the focuses of the chapter’s philanthropy. The national nonprofit organization grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
