Professor and alumnus named to national home builders association board, committees

A University of Arkansas at Little Rock professor and an alumnus have been named members of National Association of Home Builders board and committees. 

Jim Carr, coordinator of graduate studies for the UA Little Rock Department of Construction Management and Civil and Construction Engineering, was appointed to the association’s Global Opportunities Board and the Construction Safety and Health Committee.

Meanwhile, UA Little Rock alumnus J. Don Overton is a new member of the Construction Liability, Risk Management, and Building Materials Committee and the Land Development Committee.

Overton is the founder of Sustainable Construction and the Overton Firm in Little Rock. He received a bachelor’s degree in construction management from UA Little Rock and a Juris Doctor from the UA Little Rock Bowen School of Law.

The National Association of Home Builders is an organization of more than 140,000 members of the housing industry, including homebuilders, remodelers, manufacturers, suppliers, and marketers.
