Charles Law

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Music will host the university’s Percussion Ensemble and the Capitol City Percussion Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 1.

The event will take place in the University Theatre in the Center for Performing Arts.

Concert highlights by the UA Little Rock Percussion Ensemble include performances of “Eastern Oriental Express” by Leander Kaiser, “Toccata” by Carlos Chavez, “Millet Music” by Matthew Davidson, and “Al La Nanigo” by Mitchell Peters.

The newly formed chamber group, The Capitol City Percussion Ensemble, was created by UA Little Rock Professor Charles Law to give professional percussionists and educators the opportunity to perform and explore the many works written for trio and quartet percussion groups.

The Capitol City Percussion Ensemble will perform the third movement from “Trio per Uno” by Nebojsa Jovan, “Western Sketches” by Robert Kreutz, and select movements from “This One Day” by Josh Gottry.

General admission is free and open to the public.
