Upper-level Course Set to Travel to Spain this Summer

Undergraduate and graduate students at UA Little Rock are invited to apply for a faculty-led study abroad course this summer in Spain. The course, entitled “Islam and Migration in Contemporary and Historical Spain” (POLS 4360 and PADM 5341), is scheduled to travel to Madrid, Toledo, Granada, and Salobrena from May 25 to June 5.

The course will focus on how Islam has influenced Spanish history, culture, and politics, and will brush on modern issues like migration, identity, and religion. No prerequisite courses are necessary for this course, and all students are welcome to apply, regardless of major.

The total cost, including airfare, transportation, hotels, breakfasts, and insurance, totals $3,195. Students must also enroll in the Summer II course and pay tuition for the class. Scholarships are available to students who qualify for financial need.

Applications are due March 1. An informational meeting will be held at Ross Hall 306 Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 p.m or on Zoom at this link.
