Course Overview

Prerequisite: Admission to Program Co-requisite: ELEM 4900 Internship II
Internship Seminar II is concurrent with the candidate’s final field experience (4-6). It further advances the knowledge, skills, and dispositions introduced and developed throughout the program. Topics address all four domains of the assessment criteria for internship, planning and preparation, the classroom learning environment, teaching, and professionalism. Candidates’ analyses of day to day teaching experiences are integrated into the discussion of these topics. Internship Seminar II concludes with a week-long on-campus workshop in which candidates prepare a portfolio of materials for applying for jobs and for supporting them through their first year of teaching.
