Positioning for the Future

UALR Institutional Restructuring

On February 13, 2013, Chancellor Joel Anderson wrote a memo to the new Provost, Dr. Zulma Toro, with a charge to begin the process of “determining a possible restructuring of the units that comprise the Division of Academic Affairs at UALR.” The impetus for this request was the opportunity presented by several dean vacancies at one time, budgetary challenges requiring strategic reallocation, and the arrival of a new provost who could offer a fresh perspective. The Chancellor decided that he would initiate an administrative reorganization of the rest of the university as well since he anticipated the retirement of three vice chancellors by the end of June. On October 15, 2013, the final plans were announced for both initiatives. On this website you will find information about the process and the outcomes.
