A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

This week I changed my work load up a little. Instead of looking up written information about the Freedom Riders, I looked for pictures.

To start the process, I’ve been searching the Encyclopedia of Arkansas (EOA) for all photographs that are relevant to African-Americans in Arkansas around the time of the Freedom Riders.

Since the beginning of Arkansas’ statehood, African-Americans have served the state in every capacity allowed to them. This history is evident in the photographs that are available on the EOA website.

There is nothing cooler than looking at actual artifacts from particular time periods, especially photographs.
