Institute Director Adjoa A. Aiyetoro will facilitate a discussion at the screening of the film, “More Than a Month” on Monday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. at Roosevelt Thompson Library in Little Rock.
The free screening is sponsored by AETN & UALR Public Radio/KUAR FM 89.1. In “More Than a Month, the filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman sets off on a cross-country campaign to end Black History Month.
His tongue-in-cheek journey explores the complexity and contradictions of relegating an entire group’s history to one month in a so-called “post-racial” America.
The event is free to public and all are invited to attend the showing and a community discussion to follow.
