Just Communities of Arkansas is now accepting applications for their annual Ourtown Institute for Inclusive Leadership that will be February 27 – March 1, 2013 at the Lake Point Conference Center in Russellville, Arkansas.
The ultimate goal of Ourtown is to make Arkansas an even better place to live and work by removing impediments to personal and corporate success that are often based on perceived or real differences. Issues explored include race, gender, sexual orientation and disabilities, along with the nature of prejudice, discrimination, oppression and privilege.
Ourtown Institute for Inclusive Leadership- Ourtown trains existing and emerging leaders who recognize our growing diversity as an opportunity and want to be effective in leveraging our diversity to reap the benefits of an inclusive community where all voices are heard and all people are respected. Ourtown is interactive and allows individuals to build the skills necessary to promote effective communication, positive participants increase their ability to talk, listen and understand more effectively, and to act across intergroup barriers.
