The Arkansas United Community Coalition will host a march and rally for immigration reform Saturday, October 12. Simultaneous marches will begin at Philander Smith College in Little Rock and Dickey Stephens Park in North Little Rock at 3 p.m. with each group converging on the Arkansas State Capitol at 4 p.m.
Bishop Anthony Taylor, of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock and state Sen. Joyce Elliott are scheduled to speak during the rally.
According to rally officials, anyone who would like to participate in the marches and or the rally are asked to wear white and bring their own signs.
The event is part of a larger conference on immigrant rights held by the Southeast Immigrant Rights Network at Philander Smith Oct. 11-13.
