Learn how individuals in Arkansas shared in “The Dream”

The University District Partnership will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act by hosting a discussion highlighting the book Civil Rights Brothers: The Journey of Albert Porter and Allan Ward.  

The author of the book is Dr. Allan Ward, professor emeritus of speech communication at UALR, and a resident of University Park neighborhood.

Wanda Hamilton, one of the first African-American students to attend UALR in 1964, will be a special guest.

University District residents are encouraged to attend and share their experiences attending UALR or living in the area during the 1960s.

Refreshments will be provided.
