“He took the challenge with such graceful charm”

From Phyllis Brown; little sister of Minniejean Brown-Trickey of the Little Rock Nine

Phyllis Brown is a social justice advocate who grew up witnessing first-hand the happenings of the Little Rock Central High School crisis. She was only a young girl when she encountered L. C. Bates, but as she grew older, she understood his legacy and championed both L. C. and his wife, Daisy Bates, for their roles in the civil rights movement.
