A Trip to the Rohwer Japanese American Relocation Center

The UALR Institute on Race and Ethnicity staff, Adjoa A. Aiyetoro, Director; Tamisha Cheatham, Program Coordinator and student in the UALR Master of Public History program; Jessica Yamane, co-op intern from Northeastern University School of Law; and Donna L. Shelton, Communications Specialist at the Institute accompanied Cheatham to the visited the Rohwer Japanese American Relocation Center in Desha County.

The site is where thousands of Japanese Americans were forced to leave during World War II.
