David R. Montague (drmontague@ualr.edu) is an associate professor of criminal justice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and director of the UALR Senior Justice Center which mentors college students while addressing elder crime. He formerly served as the graduate coordinator for the UALR Master of Science Program in criminal justice and is the recipient of the 2009 UALR College of Professional Studies Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching. Dr. Montague completed federal investigations for fourteen years in law enforcement and intelligence capacities working for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a federal drug diversion investigator, the United States JFK Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) as the Senior Investigator, and as a consultant on national security matters with US Investigations Services, Inc.; the largest private investigative company in North America. In 1990, Dr. Montague periodically taught administrative asset forfeiture at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA and in 2007 he completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens’ Academy for business and community leaders. Also in 2007, he completed the Faculty/Staff internship program in Austria and Slovenia sponsored by UALR and Karl-Franzen Universitat Graz, including a lecture on prescription drug crime to the law faculty of Uni-Graz. Dr. Montague serves on the Board of Directors for LifeQuest of Arkansas, the Arkansas Senior Medicare Fraud Patrol’s Advisory Council, is Vice-Chair of the Arkansas Department of Correction’s Inmate Leadership Council Community Reentry Program Board of Directors at the Pine Bluff Prison Facility, the Board of Directors for the Reparatory Theater of Arkansas, and is a member of the UALR Chancellor’s Committee on Race. His most recent major project completed was the Delta Project to address health care fraud against seniors in the Arkansas Delta via a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging and partnership with the Arkansas SMP and the Tri-County Rural Health Network. Dr. Montague recently presented research at the 32nd International Congress on Law and Mental Health held at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany which focuses on university student fraternity and sorority hazing and in October of 2010, he ended his term as president of the Southwest Association of Criminal Justice, the association of criminal justice educators for this region of the United States falling under the umbrella of the National Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. At present, he is a member of Class 15 of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service LeadAR Program, which is a two year training for emerging Arkansas leaders from rural and urban communities domestically and internationally. Dr. Montague resides in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife and daughter.
