This is a reference guide on how to search for courses. Click on the images to enlarge them.
Check if the section number for your requested course is available.
(For this example I will be using ACCT 2310.)
Method 1: ARGOS Application
Go to evisions.ualr.edu and enter your log in credentials. (NetID in this case) When you’ve logged in, select ARGOS (1). This will launch the ARGOS application. If you get a notification (2) telling you to download and install Evisions Application Launcher, do so. After installation, re-select the ARGOS button (1).
In Argos, to get to the CSV Scheduling form, go to UALR>Campus Reports>Student>General>Scheduling and select CSV Class list.
Enter term (semester), Part of Term, College and which Department you are searching for. In the Course Status, you can select All, to view all classes, Open to view Open classes and Cancelled to view cancelled classes. Go to Report Options at the top of the page and select CSV – Class List (if not already selected) then click the Save icon.
Save the report to a destination folder of your choice.
Once downloaded, you can open the file and view every course, with all course details in this department that meets the selected criteria (All, Open or Cancelled).
Alternative Method 1: WebViewer
If you are using the ARGOS WebViewer, follow the same instructions to get to the Class Scheduling list (go to UALR>Campus Reports>Student>General>Scheduling) and select the criteria for the report (Term (Semester), Part of Term, College, Department and Course Status). When you want to export the file, select Reports at the top.
If you are having issues with finding the folders to lead you to the report, you can search CSV — Class List in the search bar and click on the appropriate option.
Method 2: SSASECQ
Open Banner and type in SSASECQ. This is the form for Schedule Section Query.
Type in the Term, Subject Code and Course number for the course you’d like to find, then press F8.
This search will bring up every section number that the Subject/Course number combination relates to, as well as let you know this section’s status. (O = Open, X = Cancelled)
If the section is marked with an O in Section Status, it is an open course. This means that this section number is already in use and you will need to submit an “Add Class” e-update with an unused section number or create a course in SWASECT with an unused section number.
If the section is marked with an X in Section Status, it is a cancelled course. If these course details match what you need, you will need to submit an “open a previously cancelled class” e-update.
For all other e-updates, please submit an e-update with the closest description of changes needed.
Searching for the class before submitting an e-update is part of the e-update process. Failure to do this part of the process will result in slower completion time or rejection of your update.
