This is the 13th consecutive year for the Arkansas Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect. The conference is a multidisciplinary learning and networking opportunity designed to provide the most current information available in the areas of prevention, investigation, casework, intervention, and support related to working with children and families affected by abuse and neglect.
There will be national, regional and local professionals presenting who have dedicated their lives to this work. We expect between 450 and 500 this year. We have over 35 workshop sessions and participants can earn 15+ hours of continuing education credit hours.
We are a self-sustaining conference with several excellent contributing partners – the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape, and Domestic Violence; Arkansas Children’s Hospital; and the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Children and Family Services.
If your company or group would like to support the conference by becoming a vendor, exhibitor, or sponsor, we welcome your involvement. You can get more information by calling our conference coordinator, Robin Wilson at 501-296-1920 and visiting our website at www.midsouth.ualr.edu.
Last year, over 33,000 reports of suspected child maltreatment were made to the Child Abuse Hotline in Arkansas. If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, you should report your concerns to the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-482-5964.
