Mission
UA Little Rock Student Orientation & Transitions seeks to introduce and connect all new undergraduate students to the campus and facilitate a spirit of success. We strive to connect parents and family with resources on campus to initiate a smooth and balanced transition for their loved ones. We focus on developing skilled and confident Orientation Leaders to assist with orientation of new students, while becoming strong and inviting campus leaders.
Summary Narrative
Enhance recruitment and retention efforts to increase enrollment
Orientation facilitated a massive video call to the university ending with 70+ videos from units, offices & athletic, student and religious organizations on campus.
Curated messaging with Advising & Registration during an academic college restructure to send official communication regarding advising practices for new students.
Other
Fall 2020 orientation was delayed to allow advising to separate and create a virtual experience for students. Emails to new students about a pending process began in March 2020.
Orientation responded to the needs of a virtual orientation process for the university in March 2020 by meeting with several vendors for a professional virtual orientation program and creating an official proposal for Go2Orientation. Approval for the chosen vendor – Go2Orientation was received in October 2020. Work on the new Virtual New Student Orientation for UA Little Rock launched January 2021 and officially debuted March 1st, 2021.
Because of these changes in the orientation process, there were no assessment measures for Fall 2020 orientation.
