Mission

Students involved in the Student Experience Center gain valuable experience in building teamwork, planning events, working with diverse personalities and populations, and much more! Services, programs, and events include student orientation, fraternity/sorority life, the Student Government Association, and much more.

At A Glance

Approximately 231 students participated in the CLC program during the 2022-2023 academic year.

  • The Scholars Forward initiative focuses on professional development and postgraduate preparation.
  • The new Scholars Forward Fest, Dream Conference, and graduate fee support upheld the overall purpose of the Scholars Forward initiative.
  • The first CLC Dream Conference occurred during this academic year in the Spring of 2022. CLC upperclassman scholars attended three professional development sessions (Managing Teams, Career/Service Balance, and DEI) led by representatives of Just Communities of Arkansas.
  • Increased opportunities for internships and other on-the-job experiences to prepare students for success are primary goals for the near future.
  • The program will continue to support student success by expanding its mentoring to help upperclassmen in career exploration and development.
  • Additionally, the CLC program supports students with graduate school preparation by reimbursing some fees associated with test preparation materials and courses, exam fees, and fees related to the graduate school application. As a result of the CLC program, students remain engaged at UA Little Rock with a 74% retention rate. Additionally, students in the program are more likely to persist to graduation, as the program offers an 89% graduation rate.
