The daughter, children, and great-grandchildren of the businessman whose acumen and vision helped build Little Rock in the mid-20th Century unveiled today letters at its gates identifying the 80 acre site as UALR’s Raymond Rebsamen Campus.
The Real Deal on the Hill, an annual basketball tournament in Fayetteville that draws more than 200 teams annually, will be moved to Little Rock and UALR’s Jack Stephens Center.
The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts graduated 112 top high school scholars this spring. More of them chose UALR than any other institution of higher learning to pursue their academic dreams.

A group of Arkansas students spent six weeks of their summer vacation in France this year. But instead of relaxing, these future computer scientists spent their time at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) at Rouen, working on computer applications and hardware designed to improve container shipping and associated logistics.

Dr. Marc Seigar, a UALR astrophysics professor, and three colleagues from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, have received a $1.4 million grant from the Arkansas NASA EPSCoR Office to further their study of mysterious super- massive black holes thought to reside at the centers of nearly all galaxies.

Anderson welcomed students and faculty to campus this week for the start of the Fall 2008 semester, one that will see implementation of policies and programs aimed at advancing the state’s goal of increasing the number of Arkansans with baccalaureate degrees. The strategies include mid-term exams for basic-level courses, development of a first-year experience course and the Office of Academic Success.
