Financial Aid

At UALR, we believe students no matter their background should be able to receive a college education and that cost shouldn’t be a barrier to that education. We’re here to help you navigate through various sources of assistance and administer your financial aid.

Most UALR students receive financial aid to assist with the cost of college. In fact, UALR students received over $110 million in financial aid in 2015.

Apply now for federal and state financial aid if you are planning to attend college in the 2017-18 academic year!

Beginning October 1st, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at www.fafsa.gov. There have been important changes made to the 2017-18 FAFSA.  In addition to being able to complete the FAFSA earlier than ever before, you will now report income and tax information from the prior-prior tax year.  This means that you will use your 2015 income and tax information on the 2017-18 FAFSA without having to wait until you complete your 2016 federal income tax return. Applying now ensures you will be considered for all aid you might be eligible for including programs with limited funds that are awarded only to early applicants.  An early application also allows you to get a much earlier indication of your eligibility for aid and the expected family contribution which will help you budget for the upcoming school year.

Arkansas residents will also need to complete the FAFSA to be considered for many types of state financial aid, including the Academic Challenge Scholarship (funded by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery), the Go! Grant, and the Workforce Improvement Grant.  Again, there’s no need to wait to apply: just visit scholarships.adhe.edu to complete the YOUniversal application.

The UALR Office of Financial Aid is here to assist you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need assistance.
