David Montague

David Montague
David R. Montague (drmontague@ualr.edu) is an associate professor of criminal justice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and director of the UALR Senior Justice Center which mentors college students while addressing elder crime. He also serves as the coordinator for the UALR Master of Science program in criminal justice. Dr. Montague completed federal investigations for fourteen years in law enforcement and intelligence capacities, and then as a consultant. He is also the recipient of the 2009 UALR College of Professional Studies Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching.
Dr. Montague serves on the Board of Directors for LifeQuest and the Arkansas Senior Medicare Fraud Patrol’s Advisory Council. His present major project is the Delta Project to address health care fraud against seniors in the Arkansas Delta via a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging and partnership with the Arkansas SMP and the Tri-County Rural Health Network. In October of 2009, he will begin his term as president of the Southwest Association of Criminal Justice, the association of criminal justice educators for this region of the United States falling under the umbrella of the national Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.Education:

2009 U.S. Administration on Aging – Award #90SM0007/02. Healthcare Fraud in Arkansas Delta Research Grant. Arkansas Department of Human Services. Currently serve as principal investigator on a contract from a $200,000 federal grant to research health care fraud against senior citizens.
2008 Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, Division on Aging. Facilitated creation of
comprehensive computerized training for Arkansas Adult Protective Services investigators. $7,000.00. Collaborated with the UALR Center for the Study of Environmental Criminology and Partners for Inclusive Communities.
2007 Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape, & Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence Prevention Education Grant. $40,000. Principal Investigator on this grant over two years to educate and understand sexual violence against senior citizens.
2006 Assisted with creation of survey research instrument used in the first-ever UALR Student Racial Attitudes Study.
2005 Faculty Coordinator for the Public Safety Subcommittee for Arkansas 2020 Statewide Legislative Research Project to understand resource needs between 2006-2020 in Arkansas. Sponsored by Senator Shane Broadway.
2004 Part of research team to revise the Arkansas Sex Offender Screening & Risk Assessment (SOSRA) data categories, computerization, and implementation planning project in collaboration with the Arkansas Sex Offender Management Team and Arkansas Department of Correction.
