Expect More: Sunny Jenkins

From the classroom to the museums of Paris, art student Sunny Jenkins has had invaluable experiences. “Because of UA Little Rock, I was able to further my artistic career and study in Paris. Because of what I’ve learned, it’s given me the confidence to do more.”

Our art program offers two undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Students in the BA program will choose from three concentrations: Studio Art, Art Education, or Art History. Studio Art offers a general course of study in studio art and applied design. Art Education is designed to provide a strong studio and art history background, while fulfilling the requirements for Arkansas licensure for the Art K-8 and Art 7-12 teaching areas. The Art History track offers a comprehensive study of art history.

The BFA is a professional degree in studio art for students who want to become working artists in their chosen fields. It provides a broad range of art making opportunities while focusing on a singular emphasis to build professional skills. BFA students will develop the skills, historical knowledge, conceptual understanding, and the sense of visual awareness needed to become a professional working artist.
