Bioinformatics is the combination of biology and computer science.

The bioinformatics minor trains students in the areas of information science and biology and prepares them to apply computational techniques to a variety of life science areas. Building upon a student’s major in biology, computer science, or information science, students are prepared to work in this exciting, fast-growing, and interdisciplinary field.
