The UALR Center for Arkansas History and Culture (CAHC) has launched a blog to keep patrons informed of progress made on the project “The Road from Hell is Paved with Little Rocks: Digitizing the History of Segregation and Integration of Arkansas’s Educational System.”
Thanks to a $106,908.00 grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, this project brings together CAHC, the Central Arkansas Library System Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, and Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, to digitize a range of materials documenting African American education during segregation and the path to integration from the three institutions.
Follow along as the project participants – ranging from archivists and graduate students to technologists and administrators – share experiences, interesting finds, and other news about this 18-month grant funded project.
