Professor of Sociology
Dr. David Briscoe is a professor of Sociology and Distinguished Teaching Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education.
Dr. Briscoe has been teaching at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for the past 28 years, and in the past five years, has taught more than 500 students. During his career, he has developed three teaching models that have lifelong implications beyond the classroom: the Briscoe Communication Model, the Briscoe Leadership Model, and the Briscoe Problem Solving Matrix. From 2017 through 2020, Dr. Briscoe earned the UA Little Rock Student Affairs’ Student Advocate Award four times in a row. Dr. Briscoe received the University-level Faculty Excellence in Public Service award in 2020.
