National Conference Highlights Three Business Professors
Three professors in UALR’s Department of Marketing and Advertising played significant roles at the recent national conference of the Society for Marketing Advances in San Antonio. Rachel Smith served as a session chair and discussion leader and presented a paper titled “Exploring a Gap: The SEC Framework.” Richard Parker served as a discussion leader and presented three papers: “Exploring International Differences in Internet Tourism Marketing: New England vs. Atlantic Canada,” which was co-authored by Smith; “Partnering with Small Business Development Centers for Student Course Projects in Marketing and Advertising Programs”; and “Marketing Communication Activities of Small Businesses: Interpretations from Survey Research,” co-authored by Joe Bell and John Hendon from the UALR Department of Management. Parker and UALR professor Gary Geissler were both finalists in the society’s teaching competition. Geissler was named a finalist in the Distinguished Teaching Professor Competition.View more stories in News
