Yvonne Delnis of Little Rock, a former UALR employee  who helps mentor Little Rock School District students at UALR Children International, is the Volunteer of the Week helping celebrate National Mentoring Month.

Volunteers in Public Schools (ViPS) asked organizations with volunteers to mentor students in the Little Rock schools to nominate a volunteer who has distinguished themselves by length of service and level of commitment.

Delnis has been volunteering with UALR Children International for more than five years, participating in UALR CI’s College Prep Mentoring Program, visiting with the youngster she is mentoring on a monthly basis, encouraging and supporting success.

She is one of four Little Rock school volunteers to be honored this month.
