Farewell Paper accepted for Accounting Conference

Dr. Stephanie Farewell, associate professor of accounting in the College of Business, co-wrote a paper, “Attesting Adios! Airways’ XBRL Filings: A Case Study on Performing Agreed-upon Procedures,” that has been accepted for presentation at the American Accounting Association annual meeting.

“This is another example of the benefits of focusing on a stream of research in an up-and-coming area,” said Accounting Department Chairperson Robert R. Oliva, Ph.D., LL.M., J.D., CPA.

“Stephanie has had various articles recently published on the XBRL, and this is the fifth consecutive year that she has participated as a presenter at the AAA annual meeting,” Oliva said. “We are all proud of Stephanie’s continuing research accomplishments and for increasing UALR’s international research reputation.”

Dean Anthony Chelte said he was very impressed with Farewell’s research agenda and intellectual contribution activity.

“Her research in the area of XBRL is cutting edge and leads the discipline in this area,” the dean said. “She is considered an expert in this emerging field. Dr. Farewell is indeed representative of the high quality faculty that we are privileged to have in the UALR College of Business.”
