KUAR, CALS Host ‘Book Guy’ for Book Appraisal Evening July 8

UALR Public Radio and the Central Arkansas Library System will host a Book Appraisal Evening featuring Allan Stypeck, one of public radio’s “Book Guys,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Main Library, 100 Rock Street.

Stypeck, president of Second Story Books in Washington, D.C., and a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers, will evaluate books, prints, graphics, and maps from central Arkansas bibliophiles. “The Book Guys,” a syndicated public radio show on NPR about book collecting, left the air at the end of February.

Joining Stypeck as co-host for the Book Appraisal Evening will be Leslie Singer of Little Rock, one of KUAR FM 89’s “Jewish Guys.”

The Book Appraisal Evening will be recorded for future broadcast on FM 89, and all are invited to bring their treasured volumes for possible evaluation.

A reception will follow, and reservations are recommended. RSVP to lblackwell@cals.org or 501-918-3029.
