UALR Welcomes Fall Donaghey Scholars

Officials of UALR’s Donaghey Scholars Program have selected 25 students to join the university’s top honors program that offers a distinctive learning environment for undergraduate studies.

Open to all majors at the university, the Donaghey Scholars Program offers a financial package totaling $60,000 to $80,000 over four years, interdisciplinary core curriculum, and study abroad.

Fall Scholars are:

  • Nora Bouzihay of Jonesboro, the daughter of Mbarek Bouzihay and Fatima Ben Mhammed. A graduate of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science, and the Arts, she will major in biology.
  • Sarah Brown of Sherwood, the daughter of Jack and Paulette Brown and a graduate of North Little Rock High School, will major in construction engineering/mathematics.
  • Merisabel Calderon of North Little Rock, the daughter of Julio and Olga Calderon, is studying international studies at UALR.
  • Caitlin Caperton of Little Rock, daughter of Ann and Ken Caperton, is a graduate of LISA Academy and will major in psychology.
  • KenDrell Collins, a graduate of Osceola High School and the son of Ollie Collins and Sandra Collins, will major in international business.
  • Alec Crow of Donaldson, a graduate of ASMSA and the son of Melanie Jackson and Kurt Crow, will major in computer information science.
  • Chloé Deaton of Little Rock, a graduate of Central Arkansas Christian High School and the daughter of Bill and Debie Deaton, will major in social work.
  • Emily Dobson of Little Rock, a graduate of Stenhus Gymnasium and the daughter of Andrea and Bruce Dobson, will major in environmental public health.
  • Madelyn Ferpotto of Westville, Ill., and the daughter of Debbie and Tim Ferpotto, will major in liberal arts.
  • Chloé Goodrich, a graduate of Bryant High School and the daughter of Kelly and Michael Goodrich, will major in theatre or French.
  • Cayley Griffiths of Bryant, a graduate of ASMSA and the daughter of Mike and Sarah Griffiths, will major in psychology.
  • Heather Haile, a graduate of Conway High School West and the daughter of Steve and Machele Wilson, will major in creative writing.
  • Lucy Harris, a graduate of North Little Rock High School West and the daughter of Jim and Leslie Harris, will major in biology.
  • Craig F. Hartaway II of North Little Rock, the son of Craig Hartaway and Ewonda and Brian Baker, is a UALR student majoring in rhetoric and writing.
  • Kelly Ho of Jonesboro, daughter of Jim and Lynn Ho and a graduate of Nettleton High School, will major in chemistry.
  • Amber Jackson of Camden, a graduate of ASMSA and Pulaski Technical College and the daughter of Cindy Chaffin, will major in social work.
  • Taylor Logsdon of Little Rock, a graduate of Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School and the daughter of Greg and Christi Logsdon, will major in biology and pre-med.
  • Bernice Nounamo of Yaounde, Cameroon, and the daughter of Laurent and Laurentine Nounamo, is a UALR student majoring in nursing and biology.
  • Zachary Parsons-Wright of Honolulu, Hawaii, the home schooled son of Christopher Parsons and Hollis Wright, will be a criminal justice and psychology major.
  • Xeniya Rudolf of Little Rock, a graduate of ASMSA and the daughter of Vakeriy Lyzegubeil, will major in biology.
  • Craig Ryan Russenberger of Bigelow, the son of Craig and Gina Russenberger and a graduate of Bigelow High School, will major in chemistry.
  • Andrea Saavedra, a graduate of North Little Rock High School West and a daughter of Luis and Jenny Saavedra, will major in Spanish and English.
  • Natasha Sra of Cherokee Village, a graduate of ASMSA and the daughter of Nirmal and Surinder Sra, will major in biology
  • Christine Stuckey of Little Rock, a graduate of Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School and the daughter of Peter and Virginia Stuckey, will major in rhetoric and writing, and international studies.
  • Stephen Cody Tucker of Malvern, a graduate of Bismarck High School and the son of Steve and Sheila Tucker, will major in computer science.
