Police Confirm Identity of Body as Missing Student
Little Rock Police have identified a body found near Sweet Home this weekend as Patricia Guardado, a UALR student who has been missing since Wednesday.
“Our worst fears have come true. I am shocked and saddened by this news,” Chancellor Joel E. Anderson said in a statement to campus. “The hearts of all of us at the university go out to Patricia’s family and friends.”
Guardaro, who was majoring in international business, was reported missing Wednesday after leaving home and failing to show up at classes. Her car was found two blocks from campus behind a fast food restaurant west of University Avenue. University officials are cooperating with the investigation, which is in the hands of the Little Rock Police.
“At this point we do not have information about memorial services,” Anderson said. “The university will have counselors available for students and employees who are struggling with this tragic event.”
