Summer Registration Opens at UALR
Early registration for UALR summer classes opens May 2, but beginning in mid-April, UALR students can start signing up for a myriad of opportunities to get ahead on degree plans, expand work skills, or enjoy enrichment classes.
Priority registration opens for UALR graduate students, post-baccalaureate students, and seniors can begin registering Tuesday, April 17, for classes in this summer’s three terms. Juniors can begin registering on Friday, April 20, sophomores can register on Tuesday, April 24, and freshmen on Friday, April 27. Priority registration offers continuing students an opportunity to select the best class schedule before open registration begins in May.
“The registration times and dates identify the earliest a student may register,” said Tammy Harrison, director of Admissions and Financial Aid. “A student may then continue adding or dropping classes throughout the scheduled registration period.”
Students from other colleges and universities can begin registration on Wednesday, May 2.
See the Registration Pocket Guide to find assigned registration dates and course selections. There is also information about how to get advised, financial aid, and payment information – everything needed to register for Summer 2012 at UALR.
Three sessions will be offered this summer:
● Summer 1: May 29 – Aug. 7
● Summer 2: May 29 – July 2
● Summer 3: July 5 – Aug. 8
Harrison said summer classes offer students an opportunity to concentrate on a challenging course or a chance to get a head start on their college career.
“Students from the central Arkansas area attending college elsewhere can join us in the summer as a transient student and complete needed college requirements that can be transferred back to their home school,” Harrison said. “Lottery scholarship recipients may choose to enroll in the summer to make up hours not completed during the fall and spring semesters or to improve a GPA to meet renewal requirements to receive their scholarship for the upcoming academic year.”
She said summer classes can help a student continue to receive much needed scholarship funds for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Harrison said financial aid is available to UALR students to help with the cost of summer school as they work to complete their degrees. Students can apply for summer financial aid by completing the UALR Summer Financial Aid Application in BOSS, just as soon as they register for their summer classes.
