‘Sample’ Donaghey Program Nov. 8

Students interested in applying for UALR’s top honors program, the Donaghey Scholars Program, are invited to Sampler Day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Legends Room of the Jack Stephens Center. The program includes a scholarship package totaling between $60,000 and $80,000 as well as a chance to study abroad.

Space for Sampler Day is limited, so prospects should RSVP at dsp@ualr.edu.

UALR’s unique academic program accepts applications from graduating high school seniors and current college students from all majors, preferably those in their first or second year of study.

Acceptance into the Donaghey Scholars Program comes with a scholarship package totaling $60,000 to $80,000, including tuition, fees, stipend, study abroad, and other benefits. The program also features an interdisciplinary core curriculum with small class sizes, extensive writing, and vigorous discussion.

This week’s Arkansas Times includes an eight-page section on the Donaghey program, its history, and profiles of current scholars and alumni.

The Sampler Day program will feature presentations from staff and alumni, as well as the opportunity for prospective students to meet current scholars and faculty, and attend two core courses.
