Marketing Professor Honored As Distinguished Teaching Professor
Dr. Gary L. Geissler, associate professor of marketing and advertising, was honored as a “Distinguished Teaching Professor” at the 2007 Society for Marketing Advances Annual Conference in San Antonio.
Geissler was one of four finalists from the U.S. and Canada for the Sherwin-Williams Distinguished Teaching Professor Award. The prestigious award honors marketing educators for outstanding contributions to the quality of marketing education. Each of the finalists received a trophy and honorarium. Geissler titled his presentation, “Building Bridges Between College and Career.”
The Society for Marketing Advances is a premiere marketing organization with members from 35 different countries. Its purpose is to promote the growth of intellectual leadership in the field of marketing on the part of teachers, researchers, students, and interested executives in business and government.
Earlier this year, Geissler received the 2007 International Society of Business Disciplines Teaching Excellence Award, which is open to professors from all business disciplines. In 2002, he received Prentice-Hall’s Solomon-Marshall-Stuart Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education, co-sponsored by the American Marketing Association. View more stories in News
