Percussion Ensemble Performs Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side’ Feb. 15

UALR’s Percussion Ensemble will perform the entire Pink Floyd album “Dark Side of the Moon” in concert Friday, Feb. 15, to benefit the ensemble’s touring program. The English rock band that initially earned recognition in the late 1960s for their psychedelic rock music achieved worldwide success with “Dark Side of the Moon” in 1973. Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert at the University Theatre in the Center of Performing Arts are $10 available at the door, which will open at 7 p.m. “This very special performance of this historic album has been over a year in production and orchestration of music,” said Charles Law, director of the ensemble who arranged the pieces. The high-energy ensemble celebrates 10 years of performing throughout the Midwest and South. For the past three years, the group has partnered with the International House of Blues Foundation in New Orleans, performing for inner-city and at-risk youth, as well at the House of Blues Club.
