Grad Espouses Alumni Association Connections

C. Scott Schuh, who graduated from UALR in 1977, is back on campus – these days as a member of the executive board of the Alumni Association. The president of LSC Marketing suggests other alums join the association and experience UALR’s growth and development. Schuh got involved with the organization because “you always need to network.

“A business opportunity led me to get connected with it. I was honored and pleased to be considered for the board and now the executive committee,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed meeting new people.”

Schuh’s connections with UALR go beyond his work as chair of the executive board’s Communications Committee at the Alumni Association. His wife, Amy Lowe, is a 1978 UALR grad. She works as an accounting manager at the family business following a career in the telephone industry.

Their daughter, Laura, graduates this month from UALR’s College of Education with a degree in elementary education with a magna cum laude distinction. After commencement this month, she will teach at Crystal Hill Elementary School. The Schuhs’ son Andrew is a structural engineer in Houston.

Scott said his family’s UALR connections have helped him make local connections with other businesses and other UALR graduates.

“I challenge any past UALR graduate to reconnect with the University whether they graduated a few years ago or quite a few years ago to witness its growth but equally important to see the quality faculty that we have out here,” he said. “UALR is a great college that’s doing a lot of good things for the community.”
