COB Makes U.S. News & World Report Top Tier

UALR’s College of Business has been ranked in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2011 Best Colleges listings among the top tier business schools in the country.

“This is the first time in the history of the college that we have been ranked nationally by such a prestigious publication,” said Dr. Anthony F. Chelte, dean of the college.

More than 1,400 colleges and programs of business were reviewed for the final rankings by U.S. News. Of those 1,400 business schools and programs, only 386 were awarded national ranks designated in the “Best Colleges and Universities” list, and the UALR College of Business was tied for a ranking of 184.

For undergraduate business school rankings, U.S. News surveyed deans and senior faculty at each undergraduate business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International (AACSB). Business school deans and faculty (two at each AACSB-accredited business program) were asked to rate the quality of all programs they were familiar with on a scale of one (marginal) to five (distinguished).
