Scottish Rite Presents Speech, Hearing Clinic Gift
Dwane Treat of Searcy, the 33rd-degree sovereign grand inspector general in Arkansas for the Scottish Rite, presented a $10,000 gift to UALR recently for the Beth B. Eaton Scottish Rite Language and Literacy Center.
The clinic is part of UALR’s Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, which has received a number of substantial gifts from the international fraternal organization.
Established in 1998, the Beth B. Eaton Language and Literacy Center provides services for children from birth through adolescence who have difficulty hearing, speaking, or comprehending language.
Approximately 50 children are seen each year for diagnostic and therapeutic services with all professional fees covered by the Scottish Rite Masons.
