The Theatre Arts and Dance Department will present its annual spring dance concert beginning Thursday, April 18.

Evening performances of BODYWORKS 2013 will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a final matinee at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21. All performances will take place at the UALR Center for Performing Arts.

“Once again, the annual spring rite brings together an exciting combination of original works created by our professional faculty, and our award winning students,” theatre arts and dance chair Jay Raphael said.

“This season you will see everything from a hilarious parody of a famous ballet to numbers from the Broadway musical Chicago. We have also invited Ballet Arkansas to join us and to reprise a number choreographed for them last fall on commission by one of our teachers.

“All told, this promises to be an ingenious and high energy entertainment!”

UALR offers the only bachelor of fine arts in dance performance in Arkansas. The dance program produces two concerts a year.
