Thornhill will present his master of arts thesis exhibition through Dec. 20 in Gallery II, “The Abstraction of Toys,” a series of paintings that reveals an evolution from a representational to a more abstract style of painting. According to Thornhill, inspiration for his subject matter and composition came from his grandchildren’s toys. The abstract works of Pablo Picasso also heavily influenced his paintings.

The galleries are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
