Simmons First National Bank, headquartered in Pine Bluff, Ark., which established a $25,000 UALR scholarship fund in 2002, has announced a second gift today, adding another $30,000 for the fund.

David Bartlett, president and chief operating officer of the bank corporation, said the Simmons First National Bank Endowed Scholarship is for the benefit of a full-time student enrolled in UALR’s College of Business.

“Simmons Bank and many of its executive officers have been strong supporters of UALR,” said Bob Denman, executive director of UALR’s Office of Development. “In addition to the 2002 gift, Simmons First is a sponsor of Finale, UALR’s annual fundraiser for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.”

Bartlett is a member of the steering committee of UALR’s comprehensive campaign, “It’s Time for UALR.”
