Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to speak Oct. 24
Henry G. Cisneros, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton, will be the featured speaker at the 2014 League of United Latin American Citizens Council 750 Little Rock Scholarship Banquet.
The banquet takes place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the Great Hall of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock. Tickets are $100 for the general public, $75 for UALR faculty, staff, and students.

All tickets are tax deductible as proceeds from the annual event directly support the postsecondary education of Latinos. This year, 39 honorees are receiving more than $32,000 in total scholarships from LULAC Council 750 Little Rock.
UALR Chancellor Joel E. Anderson is receiving the President’s Award on behalf of UALR for the outreach provided to recruit and retain more Latino students at the university.
Thirteen UALR students are receiving LULAC scholarships this academic year, and the university has matched those scholarships. Two UALR alumni, Carlos Sepulveda and Timothy Tellez, who are receiving postgraduate scholarships to study at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, will also be honored at the banquet.
UALR LULAC Council President Sandra Carmona Garcia is also receiving the first Clinton Foundation Scholarship Award.
