Wagner Chosen for German Leadership Program
Dr. Susanne M. Wagner, assistant professor of German in the Department of International and Second Language Studies, has been selected to participate in the Transatlantisches interkulturelles Nachwuchsförderungsprogramm Deutsch als Fremdsprache II (TraiNDaF II) leadership program.
As one of only 10 Americans chosen for the program, Wagner will develop leadership skills, learn effective strategies to advocate and promote the study of German and engage in discussions about professional issues facing Germany on a local, regional, and national level.
The TraiNDaF II program is supported through a grant from the Federal Republic of Germany through StADaF (Ständiger Arbeitsgruppe Deutsch als Fremdsprache).
A major goal of the program is to develop a strong leadership cadre consisting of younger colleagues who, after a period of professional development through this program, will be able to inform and develop other colleagues in their region of the United States.
