The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will honor alumnus Dr. Sara Tariq, associate dean for student affairs in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), during the 17th annual premier food event, Taste of Little Rock, on Tuesday, April 7.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has received more than $7,500 for student scholarships in mass communication after a successful tennis tournament Power 92 organized by radio deejay and UA Little Rock alumnus Travis “Tre’ Day” Rowan. 

UA Little Rock welcomed the fall semester with a BBQ picnic at the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center on Sept. 5. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Whole Hog Café with dessert from Community Bakery.

Kristi Smith, senior director of development in the Office of Alumni and Development, has taken on the additional duties of leading the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni Association.

An expert in higher education communication and marketing will close out the UA Little Rock Department of Applied Communication’s third annual Leadership Lecture Series on Thursday, May 9. 

Gradfest, a “one-stop shop” for all things graduation, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, and Thursday, March 14, in the Donaghey Student Center Campus Bookstore. 

A law degree has been a lifesaver for entrepreneur David “Alan” Bubbus Jr., who continues to make his mark on the central Arkansas restaurant scene as president of David’s Burgers, an expanding burger franchise with 10 locations.
