Dennis Wayne Wormington, 39, a UALR alumnus and former Student Government Association president, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, in Texarkana, Texas.

The UALR Alumni Association has announced plans to construct an Alumni Plaza at the heart of the campus which will become the new home to the Alumni Walk, a campus tradition in which names of graduates are preserved on brick pavers for a walkway.

The following University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni were recently recognized for their contributions: • Liz Langston, M.A. ’88, the co-founder and executive director of the 48 Hour Film Project, was honored with the Hendrix Odyssey Medal for Artistic Creativity. • Erin Hohnbaum, B.A. ’10, was named to Arkansas Business 2013 “20 in Their … UALR Alumni @ Work in the community

Frank D. Scott Jr., 29, a master’s of business administration alumnus of UALR’s College of Business, has been named to the Arkansas Highway Commission.

The UALR Office of Communications recently earned a first place award from the Arkansas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

UALR students set to graduate in December will want to visit the 2013 Fall GradFest, a one-stop event for all things related to commencement.
